What is Wireless Mesh.
Above video features Eric Miller, Senior Vice President, Solutions and Rob Conant, Senior Vice President, Network Products describe key components of the Wireless Mesh Network.
SecureMesh™ Network
Trilliant's SecureMesh Network, the industry's most advanced and interoperable utility network architecture solution, provides scalable, secure WAN access and device management for mesh-connected AMI devices such as electric, gas, and water meters with instantaneous enterprise-to-gateway connectivity to residential and commercial locations. Information is available on-schedule, on-demand, or on-event from virtually anywhere via these wireless communication devices. A true peer-to-peer multi-hop communications architecture.
Connecting large numbers of devices at low cost
SecureMesh Network's advanced mesh architecture ensures interrupted communication paths are rerouted automatically through available alternate paths.
These highly resilient network elements augment the self-healing and self-balancing of mesh with dynamic association (changes in device ownership). Key elements include:
- The MeshGate™ communications gateway is the coordinator of communication within the SecureMesh Network. It operates as the intermediary data concentrators, collecting and filtering data from groups of MeshReader-enabled meters, and economically sharing wide area network resources making communication more affordable while ensuring high performance.
- MeshReader™ communications modules can automatically establish alternative MeshGate collector relationships based on application performance settings to ensure timely and secure delivery of data. MeshGate devices act as self-organizing conduits to multiple wide area network resources.
- Data acquisition (or control) can be performed in parallel over high bandwidth and with greater reliability than proprietary network solutions. Organized data is delivered to the enterprise systems via device management and enterprise data web services. The Trilliant SecureMesh network is end-to-end managed by SerViewCom™ communications server, a smart meter data management system.
